Din of Shadows is a Toronto-based non-proscenium performing arts company, made up of a collection of creators and performers from the worlds of music, dance, and theatre dedicated to the development and production of interdisciplinary works by Canadian artists. Din seeks out the art of the in-between: the pieces that don’t fit neatly into traditional categories, and that might not be realized anywhere else.
Founded in 2017 by Artistic Director Quinn Jacobs, the company has worked with 92 artists and technical personnel, including composers, vocalists, instrumentalists, choreographers, dancers, dramaturges, actors, visual artists, authors, photographers, videographers, stage managers, stage hands, lighting technicians, audio technicians, and other venue staff.
Din has commissioned and premiered 24 mixed media works by Canadian creators across seven events; three at Arraymusic (2017, 2018, 2019), three at The Music Gallery (2019, 2022, 2024), and one exclusively on social media (2022).
